What is a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery?

During the procedure, excess fat is liposuctioned from areas with an abundance of fat (such as the abdomen, thighs, or flanks) and then carefully purified before being re-injected into the buttocks. This creates a fuller, more shapely buttock contour.

The surgery is performed under general anesthesia or intravenous sedation, so you won’t experience pain during the procedure itself. However, after the surgery, patients commonly experience mild to moderate discomfort at the liposuction and injection sites. Pain medications prescribed by the surgeon can help manage any post-operative discomfort.
What is the recovery process like after a Brazilian Butt Lift surgery?
The recovery process following a Brazilian Butt Lift generally unfolds as follows:
Immediate Recovery: After the surgery, you will need to avoid sitting directly on your buttocks for a certain period of time to protect the newly transferred fat cells. You’ll be given a special pillow to sit on or instructed to use a “donut” pillow.
First Week: It’s important to avoid strenuous activities and follow your surgeon’s guidelines. Swelling and bruising around the liposuction and injection sites are common during this time.
Two to Three Weeks: Over this period, you’ll gradually be able to resume more normal activities. The majority of swelling should start to subside, and the transferred fat cells will begin to settle into their new position.
Several Months: Swelling will continue to decrease, and the final results will become more apparent as the fat cells establish their new blood supply and become more integrated into the buttocks.
